The hardest hole on the card.

They say it's the widest fairway on the course. The card still calls it the No. 1 handicap: four hundred forty-three from the Black tees. Par here travels well.

The steeple line.

Play toward the church steeple on the horizon and trust the number, not the look. The granite posts on either side of the fairway sit 150 yards from the center of the green.

The close · Nos. 17 and 18

A short iron, then a long walk in.

Seventeen plays 172 from the Black tees. Eighteen runs 529 back toward the clubhouse. The card gives you par 3 and par 5; the wind decides the rest.

Before the round

A putting green, a chipping green with a practice bunker, and a target-oriented driving range. The clubhouse holds a full-service bar, food, and a pro shop stocked with the major brands.

Local rules

USGA Rules govern all play except where local rules prevail.
Out of bounds: white stakes, or Curtis and Dehmel roads.
Granite posts on either side of the fairway are 150 yards to the center of the green.
Keep carts on paths around tees and greens.
